May Authentic Relating Games
Dear Community,
One piece of feedback that we often get is around the pace of our events. We tend to go more slowly than many attendees are used to moving, which has prompted both confusion and delight. Why do we move as slow as we do? Slowing down gives us space to feel into our experience and also to explore possibilities beyond our automatic conditioning. The next time you’re in a tense conversation, I invite you to ask the simple question, “Can we slow down?” and discover what possibilities emerge. Curious to experience this for yourself? Please join our next event as we practice slowing down in order to connect more deeply with ourselves and each other.
I’m excited to announce that we have two new facilitators at Authentic Oakland! Two of our regular attendees, Phil Epstein and Doug Bozick, have stepped up to co-facilitate future events. That makes five of us! I’m incredibly grateful for our amazing team of facilitators and all the support they’ve provided. You can learn more about Phil, Doug and the rest of our team on our about page.
I’m also proud to announce that Authentic Oakland is now an official partner of Authentic Relating Training (ART) International, the organization that introduced me to the beautiful world of Authentic Relating. ART International offers courses around the world that empower you to be more alive, awake and aware in all your relationships. Please visit the ART website to learn more and use the code AUTHENTIC5 for 5% off any Level 1 course.
Our next Authentic Relating Games event will happen on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, 7:00 - 9:00pm PST. This event is limited to 16 people so you're encouraged to sign up early.
What are Authentic Relating Games? Authentic Relating Games are a place to practice different ways of being human with others. AR Games interrupt our habitual ways of being, and offer opportunities to stretch ourselves emotionally, mentally, and relationally.
What are the games like? Some of them are played one on one, some in small groups, some with the whole group. They can be fun and playful, or serious and edgy.
Please note: Authentic Oakland events will be online only during the covid-19 pandemic. Each participant should join from their own computer in a quiet space.
With love,
Joshua
